A hawk visits our freshly hayed field

We have finished all the first crop, hurray! Terry and Travis and Stanley worked late into the night after the rest of us had to leave for various other responsibilities. The last day was over 1000 bales on a field we don't own. It has pretty views and was nice and breezy. After we got the bales up a hawk visited.
Another cool thing was to watch father daughter team Terry and Alisha work the raker and baler right next to each other so Alisha's fresh made windrows could not escape Terry's baler. Alisha stayed till everything was raked and baled and then drove a tractor home.

Hurray, we have a short break before we begin 2nd crop. Some rain now would be perfect.

River Rd First Crop DONE!!!

An amazing string of great weather and lots of participation from family and friends has helped Torsey Farms complete our largest hay field in record time.  In 8 days our River rd field has been mown , teded, raked, baled and PICKED UP!  We did a combination of round and square bales.  This field typically holds 7,500 square bales.  I am not sure how many square/round we did this year.
Terry is really happy!
